Overview

Locally born, Bridged and Charlie welcome you to our traditional Lakeland home. Our Four Star rating by the English Tourist Board assures a warm welcome and a high standard of care.

We have a selection of comfortable bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities. Family, twin and double rooms are available and equipped with a TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. Single rooms are subject to availability - please check. Children of all ages are very welcome.

We serve traditional full English breakfasts or for those that prefer, a continental buffet. Vegetarian options are also available. Our breakfast menu uses locally sourced produce.

Mountain bikers are welcome. We have a drying room and secure cycle storage. A pressure washer is available.

Glorious countryside with winding pathways; lakeside shores and forest walks; challenging hikes or gentle strolls are all on our doorstep waiting for you to explore at your leisure.

Accommodation - We are a non-smoking establishment

We let rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. 2 Cambridge Villas is open all year. The house was built in the late 1800s from local stone. It retains all the character of a traditional Lakeland home.

Tariff

Our rates are between £30 and £38 per person per night according to season and length of stay. We also have special short break savers. Contact us today for our latest offers.

All major credit cards are accepted. Payment can also be made in cash or by cheque when supported by a suitable bank card.

A deposit is required on booking to secure your reservation. The deposit will be forfeited in the event of cancellation. You will be charged for the accommodation if it is cancelled within 10 days of the arrival date.

Local attractions

We have a wealth of knowlwdge we are happy to pass on!

Ideally situated for walking, be it a gentle stroll around the lakes or for the more energetic, the surrounding fells are almost on our doorstep.

For younger guests, Beatrix Potter's house and museum are only a short distance away. If a lazy day on the lake is your wish, we are just half a mile away from the tip of Windermere with all it has to offer.

Here in Ambleside we have the Armitt Museum (dedicated to Lakeland life), excellent restaurants and shopping. Our local cinema shows all the latest releases and has a very popular restaurant to complete your evening.

Leisure club facilities including pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym are about one mile away. Please ask for more details.

Mountain bike enthusiasts

The new 10 mile North Face Mountain Bike Trail is England's most challenging purpose built mountain biking trail. It comprises 10 sections of sinuous single track joined by forest tracks in Cumbria's already popular and picturesque Grisedale Forest.

2 Cambridge Villas has facilities specifically designed for Mountain Bikers. We have a drying room, a secure cycle store and a pressure washer to get the mud off your bike.

Further a field

The cosmopolitan city of Manchester offers a wealth of cultural and entertainment experiences. To the north, the Scottish borders provide a beautiful contrast to the Lake District National Park. Both are within 60 minutes by car.

Terms & Conditions

We look forward to welcoming you to 2 Cambridge Villas Guest House.

Terms are Bed & Breakfast, £28.00 to £38.00 per person per night, according to season and length of stay.

The House is strictly non-smoking, we do not accept pets.

Payment can be made by cash, all major credit cards or a cheque supported by a bank card.

Cancellation Policy
Please note that once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel, please contact us immediately. For cancellations made more than 10 days before your booking commences you will not be liable for the total balance but we will take a £20 cancellation fee from you. For cancellations made 10 days or less before your booking commences or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling, you will be liable for the total amount of accommodation booked. For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.
