Ideally situated for walking, be it a gentle stroll around the lakes or for the more energetic, the surrounding fells are almost on our doorstep.
For younger guests, Beatrix Potter's house and museum are only a short distance away. If a lazy day on the lake is your wish, we are just half a mile away from the tip of Windermere with all it has to offer.
Here in Ambleside we have the Armitt Museum (dedicated to Lakeland life), excellent restaurants and shopping. Our local cinema shows all the latest releases and has a very popular restaurant to complete your evening.
Leisure club facilities including pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym are about one mile away. Please ask for more details.

Mountain bike enthusiasts
The new 10 mile North Face Mountain Bike Trail is England's most challenging purpose built mountain biking trail. It comprises 10 sections of sinuous single track joined by forest tracks in Cumbria's already popular and picturesque Grizedale Forest (7 miles).
2 Cambridge Villas has facilities specifically designed for Mountain bikers. We have a drying room, a secure cycle store and a pressure washer to get the mud off your bike.

Grange-over-sands (25 miles) and Kendal (12 miles) are both within easy reach.
For a full day out, the cosmopolitan city of Manchester offers a wealth of cultural and entertainment experiences. Alternatively, to the north, the Scottish borders (Burns Country) provide a beautiful contrast to the Lake District National Park.
